2NT starting in San Francisco; moving to Chicago in the fall
(Known already: 1NT leaving SF for LA.)

This is rather unusual, for a tour to move on from its launch city only to be taken over by a new tour, but what I expected.

The SF run was extended past the LA opening date, so the first cast will be heading to their run in LA while the Chicago cast finishes the SF run and heads over to Chicago. They start rehearsals Monday and the new tour will start start their SF run May 5th till Sept 30th.

So what's up with the alternate Frankie Valli situation in SF, now that Jarrod Spector has left?

That's a good question, I honestly don't know. They might do what they did on Broadway, and have 'Joey Peci' cover the mats as Frankie and bring a swing on for Joey, in which case the Frankie cover would be Rick Faugno. But again, I could just be making this all up.

For anyone keeping track (I'm really surprised at how sparsely populated this board is), Rick Faugno took over Jarrod Spector's track, and Courter Simmons has been Joey for about a month now.

Could have sworn I recently saw an ad for a SoCal engagement but it doesn't seem it will be playing anywhere near L.A. anytime soon.
Is there still the 2 national tours making the rounds or only one now?

They often advertise the Las Vegas production in LA-area media. For as long as the show runs in Las Vegas, they won't be playing in California. And I believe when I started this topic, there was speculation that the Chicago company would be the second national tour, but it ended up never touring.
Current companies:
US tour
Las Vegas
London
Melbourne (moving to Sydney soon)
Broadway
Toronto
And...
Netherlands (currently being translated)
2nd national tour (apparently going to be launched sometime)
Closed:
Chicago (I believe that set will be used for the 2NT)

Oh.
Let me get this straight...there were three casts (apart from the Broadway cast, obviously) either performing or rehearsing at the time simultaneously; the SF one was headed to L.A. in time for the opening date there, while a cast based in Chicago covered the remaining SF shows? But then who covered the Chicago shows? Or was the Chicago cast only in rehearsals?
So that means they built a whole new set for L.A., right? While the SF production stayed put. Then the SF production set moved to Chicago along with its cast after the extended run there. But it never actually became an official tour since the Chicago run ended up playing an open-ended run. *die*
