A Four Seasons fan to enjoy this show? I was a leeeeetle iffy on this show, so I was wondering. This question can also apply to "Movin' Out", "Mamma Mia" and "All Shook Up" as well as any artist-related shows.

No, no, I don't think so at all. I wasn't a 4 Seasons fan, until I bought the OBC recording. Then, I was hooked! Plus, a handful of the songs are very well known. I could go to any of the "concert shows", and still thoroughly enjoy them. Especially Movin' Out, Mamma Mia, and Jersey Boys!

I actually had never heard of the Four Seasons until this show came along. If you hate them, you'll probably not like the show. But the songs are extremely catchy and John Lloyd Young does an amazing job on the recording and it is just absolutely delightful to listen to it.

I say no. I had never really listened to the Four Seasons until my boyfriend got my hooked on Jersey Boys. You just need to be open to what ever type of music a show may have

Not at all. I grew up with parents who favored solo artists and musicals to singing groups, so I actually had only heard a few of the songs when I saw Jersey Boys for the first time -- and had a very enjoyable experience. It's a good, solid show that stands on its own. Don't worry about it.

No, I don't think so at all. I think the show is super whether one knows the music or not and I think chances are that once the music has been heard, a Four Seasons "virgin" might end up enjoying the songs themselves outside the context of the show. As others have mentioned, they certainly are catchy.


I think it depends on the show. The three listed above, for example, vary widely in terms of how successfully - and how differently, for that matter - they have been created. Sometimes, being a fan of the music can enhance the experience of the show, but sometimes, fans might not appreciate the using of their songs in contexts and being sung by singers that don't live up to the memories of their pop idols.

I'd be surprised if you didn't know the majority of the songs anyway.
Songs aside, the story is interesting enough it itself to keep your attention whether you know the artist already or not. Plus, if your seeing it in London, Ryan Molloy is one of the most talented performers I've ever seen, so I'd strongly recommend seeing it.
