Chaim Topol, who played Tevye in the 1971 Fiddler movie, died in Tel Aviv, Israel March 8, 2023, at age 87. Besides the movie, he had also played Tevye a total of 3500+ times. First in London in 1966, where he established himself beyond Israel, and on Broadway including in 1990-91.
