then ella fitzgerald would defiinitely be the star. ladies like ms. jennifer hudson and beyonce would not be who they are without the likes of ella fitzgerald. you can see in the tribute album to her how she is revered by so many. well i might be exaggerating but i have really come to appreciate jazz music especially after interning at umg. she even has a myspace nowadays lololol here it is check it out www.myspace.com/ellafitzgerald |

Ella's good and all, but IMHO the first pioneer in female jazz history is Billie Holliday. |
