 Live cast recording
So this popped up in my recommended list on Amazon the other day. Has anyone listened to it? I'm curious if it's worth buying...

 Re: Live cast recording
Funny that Amazon don't acknowledge that this is the Australian Cast...! I bought it at the theatre before I even saw the show and I'm so glad I did. It contains all of the 'changes' since the original London Cast and (according to Cam Mack in his liner notes) is the 'definitive' version of the show. The 'Live' element is almost not noticeable, and the cast is superb. I mean, Philip Quast as Mr. Banks? What more could a girl want

I didn't even know this existed. Is there a way for an American to purchase this other than Amazon?

 Re: Live cast recording
Thanks for the tip, Brooke. Can anyone speak to the quality of the live recording in comparison to the original Broadway cast album? I'm wondering which one would be a better purchase.

 Re: Live cast recording
I don't know of a OBC recording of the show. I'm guessing you're referring to the OLC? That's the other one I have.
The only thing that really sets it off as a live recording is that you hear the applause at the ends of songs. Well, and the dialogue within the songs; they don't have that on the other recording. It doesn't scream "live recording" to me like some do. Vocally, both are great as well. The accents are obviously better on the London recording, but they aren't bad on the Australian one either. I like "Temper, Temper" better than "Playing the Game" (TT is on the OLC, but has been replaced by PtG since then), but other than that I don't really find one recording better than the other.
