I can't believe this. That's such a stupid thing to do. I love Temper Temper. It's such a fantastic number and so dramatic. Can't believe that they would think about taking it out.

This has nothing to do with Disney. It was purely Cameron's decision (as he's the main creative force behind the show, let's remember). The reason Cameron got rid of the song is that he was fed up of the press complaining about it, and he witnessed a lot of disturbed kiddies in the audience.
It's very hard to find audio of the new song anywhere - but I know it's a macabre waltz - and a lot more gentle and quietly menacing - as opposed to being the vocal mess that Temper Temper was.

I liked the whole staging, costumes, song and idea for Temper Temper.
But I do agree, for little children (whom the original film was aimed at), it would have been fairly scary.

Jane and Michael's mock execution was dropped from the show before it reached London. In the West End the scene ended with the children being tied up by the life size toys and left huddled together at the end of the song.
I saw the show 12 times and don't ever remember seeing any young children visibly upset in the audience. There were no age restrictions either. Just a warning (in the program ) that the show may not be suitable for very young children.

what is the hole point of mary poppins without temper temper. without it it's just bleh. now i've never seen the show but i have seen a video on youtube and it was pretty sweet even though i am afraid of clowns, but i don't care. they should keep the song.

I saw it last week on broadway. temper temper was definitely still in and no mary poppins staying with the children. i liked it though the toy costumes were a bit ridiculous i think miss andrew is creepy too...but her song is amazing. all disney has good and bad. that's the whole poing of the show so i'm sad to hear that whoever it was has decided to compromise that in some productions. though mock execution is a bit much.

^ The Chicago production is the one that cut "Temper, Temper" IIRC, not Broadway.

The London production closed before Temper Temper was cut anywhere.
