 Mrs. Banks
What's the part like?
What does it do?
What style of song is Sister Suffragette?
What's the range?
How much stage time?
My sister just got cast, but she hasn't seen the script so neither of us knows too much about it.

At a camp production, I believe it's the b'way script although I'm not sure.

That's...a lot of dollars. I'm not sure which script it is, but it's Mary Poppins...

Sister Suffragette is not in the London/Broadway version, just the movie.
And I dont think even at silly youth and camp productions that people should be cast as characters when they've not bothered to find out anything about the character.

She had no chance to find out anything about the character, they only announced the show a few days before she was cast and she was already at camp at that point.
I would suggest not being so rude about it.

I certainly don't think much of it's replacement, "Being Mrs. Banks".

There are at least 2 VERY EXPENSIVE (and that does not necessarily meadn the BEST) theatre camps in the US who "pirate" shows that are still running on Broadway all the time, and for some reason (let's see, could it be because the kids of a lot of famous people go there?the "powers that be choose to look the other way. These kids are there not necessarily because they are talented but because they can come up with the mega-bucks needed to pay the outrageous tuition! They have performed "Rent", "Nine", "Urinetown" &"Beauty and the Beast"(before the rights were released). and even have the guts to film them and send them home with their campers!!!
Where is Actor's Equity on this one? Or is it OK to "pirate" a show and NOT a film?

 Mrs Banks
Can it really be considered simply as a replacement when the entire character has been re-conceived for the stage show? I think if one has a problem with the song, one probably has a problem with the entire conception of Mrs Banks as she appears in the stage production.
"Sister Suffragette" is one of my favourite songs in the film. I wish some way had been found to include it in the stage production, even if only in its original version as a song for Mary entitled "Practically Perfect". I wonder whether the lyrics by the Sherman brothers were ever completed for that earlier version of the song.

 Re: Mrs. Banks
Well Practically Perfect is in the show... doesnt sound much like Sister Suffragette though.
SS was one of my favourite songs in the film too. I preferred the film version of Mrs Banks, she was feisty, but still bowed to Mr Banks in the sort of non-relationship that they have, and I loved her activism in Votes for Women (that could've been embellished on stage!) wheras on stage she's got no personality at all, and just seems to whine all the time.
