I saw that
The Drowsy Chaperone might be made into a movie with Geoffrey Rush as Man in Chair. Apparently he played the part in Australia.
Really great show but I don't know how well it will translate to the big screen. It's difficult to do because it's sort of "cheesy". Tough to play with those 1920's stereotypes so outrageously and keep it entertaining. I'm so glad I saw the show (twice) right after it went off Broadway and hit the road. Had great actors and kept the sets. I'm crossing my fingers that the film will be a hit. The show is deserving of a good treatment on film. I wish they had filmed a stage performance for
Great Performances. ***are they ever going to release
The Light in the Piazza?***
