How long does Janet hold the note at the end...before the encore?
And how does one hold that note for that long?

They do a trick with her microphone because there's a moment in that note when she drinks a glass of water as she's "singing!" LOL!

It's a trick glass. She's not actually drinking- that trick was also performed in some productions of Chicago during "Both reached for the gun."

yah i saw the show and the sound sort of changed while she was singing with the glass. perhaps they have her taped? maybe my ears are just whack. whatever she did tho, props to her

She is a traind singer. She has the abilty to hold a note that long.
The water drinking part is recorded. Only that part.
