I'll ask around and see if I come up with anything...

Starlight Express, with no rollerskates? I couldn't imagine that working.

I'd like it without the skates. I've liked the show since I got the CD in fifth grade, and it was a couple of years before I looked it up on the net and found out about the whole rollerskate thing. But, aren't the skates the reason most people go to see it?

No, it's not going to happen. JemimaPearl has been going around various forums, starting this rumor herself. She needs to stop.

It's not on the schedule of upcoming Broadway shows.

Well, it certainly isn't the obtuse book, the mediocre score or unevenly crafted lyrics that's the drawcard.

There ar no plans for a Broadway revival. These rumours are completely false.

End of story.

Andy.

I don't think Webber would try bringing Starlight to Broadway again. It's an obscenely expensive show, and not one of his best

Oh he could. But it's not gonna happen.

The music is great. Possibly his best since JCS.

Some of the songs are fun, but the score as a whole is, at best, mediocre - and it gets worse with every passing iteration. Starlight Express does not represent Andrew Lloyd Webber at the top of his game as a musical theatre composer. In terms of the scores he wrote between Jesus Christ Superstar and Starlight Express, both Evita and Cats are far more musically cohesive.

If it was revived anywhere, I would really hope they started again from the original. It was by far the best, with the best songs and the most complete script.

For that matter, just release the full recording, instead of only 2/3rds, with several of the songs the single version instead of the stage version. The Single lyrics that open Only He make no sense in context.
