5 Saddest Musical Songs
Author Message
Post
Les Miserables takes the cake, as the only musical (or book for that matter) thats ever made me cry.
I can be quite the heartless wench, but Les Mis had me crying from Fantine's death on; stopping only breifly to crack a smile at the silly Thenardiers.
So it dominates my list of saddest songs.

In order
1. Finale (that one really got me. Its that sort of... happy, but sad at the same time (or perhaps sad, but happy at the same time) endings that really get me bawling)
2. Come to Me
3. A Little Fall of Rain
4. Empty Chairs at Empty Tables
5. Castle on a Cloud

you picked michale ball's unintentionally funny version of "losing my Mind "over Dorothy Collins, gut wrenching rendition on the OBC, Dorthy loudens on the Sondheim at Carnagie Hall c.d., or JuliacKenzie's in the London cast?

I've never seen Follies or heard any one else sing Losing my Mind so the only version I know is Michael's....yes it is kinda funny but it's still sad.
