Dear Annie Fans,

Why is Grace Farrel obsessed with cheese?

Cheese?

I never understood that part. It kind of shows Warbucks' easing into his nicer self. Warbucks has had everything (and if memory serves correctly this is around the part where Warbucks appreciates the servants and invites them ti the party) except cheese. Something so simple that he never really thought about. And then there's the fact that Warbucks probably (a) never threw parties, except boring dinner parties for his business "friends; (b) never threw a kid's party. You must always have cheese at a kid's party.

I should ask our Grace what she thinks.

Actually in the 1930's cheese referred to illegal wine. Each type of cheese was a different type of wine.

When i did Annie the director had Grace say the line as if she was telling Daddy Warbucks to smile. To not stress about the party, every night it got a a laugh.

Dear Sammy_beck,

THAT would explain why the "cheese line" is said in a sort of sexy way.

The way I heard it was that the original actress playing Grace actually was obsessed with cheese, so they kept putting in little throw-away lines and such in there for her about cheese. The one line in "I Don't Need Anything But You" is the only one that survived the cuts.

Then again, the person who told me could have been talking out of her a** ...

Dear "Annie" Fans,

Are there any lines about "cheese" in the NEW "Annie" movie?

Thanks in advance for your replies.
;)
