Sometimes, it helps if you see a scene going wrong to jump onstage and actually show them what you "see" (visualize as a director). Also, be sure to give good reasons for stage movement. Don't just say "Oh go other there" - give them a reason, a motive, a purpose -- especially do this with the younger kids. I think since you have experience in directing, it shouldn't be too hard.
