I hate to say this, but Annie isn't really that great of a show. Also: the end take place at Christmas. Perhaps the directors want to wait until late Fall/Winter to do the show. How old are you? I believe Annie is specifically supposed to be eleven years old, but the actress playing Annie can be as old as thirteen or fourteen so (If you ARE eleven) you still have a few years.

If she's 11 technically she shouldn't be on this forum as you hav to be over 13, but hey, I guess that hasn't stopped some people!

Wow, you're small. I guess you could play Annie. It really does depend on size. As long as you look young. But I really hate the show.

But it's great fun to do, especially in the chorus (just because you're so busy all the time) and - I'd imagine - if you are a kid, as the OP was in this case.

The production of Annie I was in was in May and the other 4 productions of Annie I've seen have taken place at just about any time other than Christmas (April / June / September / October). I wonder if the setting really makes much of a difference to companies considering the show as a potential production.

I honestly don't think the ending of the show taking place at Christmas really qualifies it as a "holiday show". I've always wondered why it was written that way to begin with. Having it at the holidays doesn't really do much to further the story nor does it give the happy ending any more credence.

I've always assumed they had written the "New Deal for Christmas" song before writing the script and just made the script fit the song. It wouldn't be the first time such a thing happened.
