BOOK TWELVE-- CHAPTER FOUR-- ANOTHER SLEEPLESS TOWN

Munkustrap 'hears' Demeter and then tries to link with her, and gets Charumcah instead. The Caretaker tells him that Demeter is now free but has to be found. The Silver Tabby jumps to Vegas and meets with Big Louis. Trouble is - BL is not going to help him unless Munkus can pay for services rendered. To provide him with that, BL shows him the Jellicle version of the casino floor of the human Tropicana... Meanwhile, Leroy, Alonzo and Natasha have to deal with the first stages of an invasion by another northern gang... And then there is Macavity...

Munkustrap and company continue to search for Demeter after her disappearance in Las Vegas. Trouble occurs when a new wrinkle involves magic on a heavy scale. According to the Gifted members of his team, Demeter's whereabouts are back in time. Back in Manhattan, a second team of Bronx invaders was intercepted and sent packing by Ethan. Cassandra is fully aware now about the attempts to take over northern Manhattan. Macavity, meanwhile, is visited by Charumcah...

Recovering from being possessed by Charumcah, Demeter discovers that she is in the year 1955, and that her owners are more like her than she knows. Faust finally tracks down his father, and why he is being ordered to go home. Munkustrap arrives in 1955 Las Vegas, and begins his search for Demeter. Ethan has to chart the dispersal of the Tribe for the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade. Leroy finds out that the City College Gang is threatening the Jellicle Banking system.

Demeter is visited by Charumcah, and has to endure his thought games. Leroy and Alonzo show off a nwe type of paper money to combat the CC Gang counterfeit bills. Faust is on the trail of the Anubis Staff. Cassandra helps Khandi deal with a Christmas problem. Munkustrap and his clowder find themselves thrown into 1957 and the opening of the Tropicana. Macavity continues to search for Demeter. Gus helps Denise (the KA-Cassie) with Christmas and a possible part in CATS...

Munkustrap & company are beginning to lose their collected when they suddenly find Demeter in Henderson at a Pet Clinic. Things start to go awry shortly afterward when Eudora tells the clowder that she does not know Demeter is her mother. Misto compounds it by saying they need to go back to the Luxor site so he can work a spell to take them back (forward?) to 1999. Otherwise, they may stay in 1958... Meanwhile, Cassandra has some misgivings bout what the time travel has done....

As we know, Broadway has CATS at the Neil Simon Theater. However, there is no mention of US TOUR similar to the UK Tour. If anyone hears of such a tour, or some regionals in the news, let me know.

San Francisco, CA: Candice has to lay down some rules on relationships in the cast, and Patrick Luna (Alonzo) and Ramona Kincaide (Victoria) get the first notice. Meanwhile, Franklin Thomas (Munkustrap) is confronted with someone from his past. Needless to say, neither Beth Simpson (Demeter) nor Marielle Jacq (Bombalurina) like the intruder when she brings up the closeness of the Munk/Deme pairing... And the thought of Deme sharing the Silver Tabby with Bomba....

A rare blue moon (second full moon in a calendar month) seems to herald some difficulties involving Munkustrap, Alonzo, Demeter, Cassandra and Macavity. Due to the time trip to Vegas in 1955, this might have created friction between couples. Macavity, on the other hand, seems to have fixated on Demeter's "Endgame Dream" - a problem that Munkustrap does not like....

Things are rushing toward the concluding RETURN. The Mystics now understand why Charumcah can affect Earthly affairs. Demeter is more aware of her Endgame dream and her soulbond with Munkustrap. Macavity makes a rare appearance, asks Eudora a question and the leaves when he receives an answer, Munkustrap now realizes how close the RETURN may be... Later, Tumblebrutus stumbles into the Maison, badly wounded....
