Post Question about title song
At the point in the show that the title song occurs, Mrs. Potts has not been exactly an active character in terms of the Objects. So why does she get the juicy assignment of singing the title song at the first real moment that Beast shows that he loves Belle? And don't say it's because she sings it in the movie; I'm talking purely from a story/character viewpoint. Lumiere and Cogsworth are much more active in the story; hell, have Cogsworth sing "Beauty and the Beast"! He's the only Object that doesn't have his own song. Even if Mrs. Potts doesn't sing the title song, she would still have the "Home Reprise" to herself.

According to IMDB.com, Angela Lansbury herself didn't think the song was suited to the character. But the producers had her record it anyway, "in case nothing else worked." And apparently nothing else did.

The core answer is probably "because Angela Lansbury." And, that's probably enough.

Now that you mention it, out of the vocal cast from the animated film, Angie does have the easiest to listen to voice.

I'm not really sure what you mean by that. Are you implying that Angela doesn't take dramatic context seriously?
