 Making Your Own Costumes--any tips?
Hi all, my community theater is considering doing BATB next year and we have a small budget. We'd really like to make our own costumes if we did it. Does anyone have any tips on how they made their costumes...particularly Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts, and Lumiere (his hands)? Thank you!

I worked on a children's version where we added Lumiere in as an extra character. Now, it depends on when your show is, but I think we used those fake torches that Halloween stores sell, and I think we cut down the handle a bit, and built the arms around it. Something like these http://www.lightsforalloccasions.com/p-231-flame-light-burning-torch-4-in-1-battery-operated.aspx. Hope this helps

I don't posses much information related to it but one of my friend is a famous fashion designer named camilla, so you can contact her and get all your doubt clear.

If you guys have a relatively low budget, exhaust all possible sources! Maybe borrow some materials from your relatives, friends, co-faculty members, you might be surprised at the amount of help you can get.
