I could never imagine the vodka-stinging Stritch as the Baker's Wife.....

Baranski's gotta be Cinderella's STEPMOTHER, not the spirit of her dead mother, right?

This was a bad rumor !!

Today, it was confirmed that Broadway's Annie, Lilla Crawford, will portray Little Red !

http://playbill.com/news/article/182167-Annies-Lilla-Crawford-Will-Be-Little-Red-in-Into-the-Woods-Film-Featuring-New-Song-by-Stephen-Sondheim?tsrc=hpt2

I think that's great news. I haven't seen Annie, but it's usually a good news when a stage actor who performed 8 shows a week for on the Great White Way get cast in a motion picture, instead of Hollywood actors !

The thing that I most nervous about is Disney's involvement, because they always have their own agenda. I'm honestly afraid that they would follow the ITW Jr. tradition of cutting off the film at the end of Act I. That would just tick me off to no end lol.

The other problem (besides casting) is that Marshall expects Sondheim to write more music. Why? The score is fantastic as it is. I don't doubt Sondheim's capability as a composer.... but the idea still makes me nervous.
It is standard procedure to add at least one new song to a film version of a stage musical, so it has a chance to get a best song Oscar.

Not to mention that he wrote a song the last time they set to make an Into the Woods film. "Rainbows," it was called, though I doubt it'll be in this movie.

Sophia Grace was NOT a bad rumor. She was pulled from the project by her parents, who deemed the material too mature for their daughter.
