Post Song Discussion: "Someone is Waiting"
I find that this song is probably the most under-appreciated of Bobby's songs in the show, probably because the song is not only very challanging to sing (as Raul Esparza can attest to), but oftentimes it's really boring to look at. Luckily, I saw a production recently that had a really interesting solution for how to stage it. The five women that Bobby sings about are standing behind him and when their names are mentioned, they each take a different statue-esque pose. Also, if you'd like to hear a rather underrated rendition of the song, I would suggest picking up the Mandy Patinkin album "Experiment". So, who else loves this song?

when i was in the show we'd each come up onto a platform and when out character was mentioned, freeze in a pose that epitomized our role..and them moved off again..and repeated..like automatons it worked really well.
