Post Children in the cast
Has anyone seen or done a production of Into the Woods where Jack and Little Red Riding Hood were actually played by children around 11 or 12 years old? Do you think there are many kids that age
Who could handle those kind of roles?

Not in those roles, but I saw a very strange production where the Narrator was telling the story to his two young grandchildren.

I dunno. Jack kinda does need to have a post-puberty voice.

The Narrator has been played by a ten-year-old, though, as in the 2010 London production.

I saw a 12-year-old do a very nice Little Red a couple years ago. I think Jack needs to be a little older, though (if only for the music).

Wouldn't it be easier to hit some of the higher notes if your voice hasn't broken yet?

I was 14 when I played Red Riding Hood.
