I'd like to be in Mary Poppins one day, but I have no clue what role would work for me, assuming I'd audition for it one day...I probably wouldn't, I'm just curious.

Carousel or The King and I. Oklahoma would be great too. Also, Cinderella. My high school is doing it next year, so I'll have my chance.

Wow, is there an all of the above option? :D

So much time has lapsed since your post that this is probably irrelevant to you now, but the songs in 'Mary Poppins; were written by the Sherman Brothers, not Rogers and Hammerstein.

I just realized this thread existed......so....

Julie Jordan in Carousel is #1, most definitely. I'd also love to play Ado Annie or Laurey in Oklahoma, Cinderella in Cinderella (I've done the show before as ensemble), and Nellie in South Pacific. I also think it would be fun to play Liesl before I'm too old to play 16. All of the obvious ingenue/leading lady roles but still, great roles in great shows.

I would love to play Julie Jordan in Carousel. I've been lucky enough to be in three of Rodgers and Hammerstein's shows (The Sound of Music as Marta, Cinderella as the Fairy Godmother, and The King and I as Tuptim), and I would gladly do any of those shows again - I'd also like to be in South Pacific at some point.

Though, as far as R & H dream roles go, I think Billy in Carousel is my all-time dream role, but I think there's a slight gender issue that would get in my way, haha.

I'd love to be in Oklahoma! or Carousel.

I've been in a production of The Sound of Music, just as a nun, and for about eight months it's all I listened to in the car. I've seen Oklahoma! and it fell right next to my heart, and I can't get "Ooooooooklahoma" out of my head. At first glance I want to be Laurey, but it seems fun to be Aunt Eller. I haven't seen Carousel yet, but I have heard "If I Loved You" and therefore I am in love with the role of Julie.

I would love love love to be in the Sound of Music, as Liesl. :) But when I'm older the Baroness would be loads of fun. (Although she doesn't sing ... :/)

I would also like to do Cinderella, as Portia or Joy. :D That would be wicked fun. (Okay, I was in it five years or so ago when I was eleven and was a mouse, but....)

In Carousel, I think Carrie would be fun :)

I :)

The Baroness sings 2 of the best songs in the show.. 'No Way to Stop it" with Max and Von Trapp..and 'How can Love Survive' with Max.

I'm only familiar with the movie and the music in that... thanks so much for sharing! :D I'm going to have to look up her songs now. :] I keep meaning to get a script from the actual play, but I keep procrastinating, lol.
