-When you have a whole iPod shuffle dedicated to showtunes.
-You can relate everything to a song from a musical.
-Your dreams contain songs from musicals and you wake up with those songs stuck in your head.
-When you spend all your time on broadwayworld.com, Mdn, or Youtube searching (illegally) filmed musical performances.
-You beg your parents about every acting class, voice lesson, or audition you hear about.
-You rent every movie-musical you can find(that isn't HSM, of course!) because your father will not pay for tickets to an actual show.
-You analyze every part of a musical or movie-musical you see.
-You go to see every high-school theatre production in your city, then analyze the show afterwards.

Yesterday, my friend Nick [a fellow theater geek] said, "When I'm stressed and have too much adrenaline, I go to my room and act out the confrontation number from Jekyll & Hyde."
some others:

- you have cried while watching Spring Awakening
- you want to see Promises, Promises just because of Kristin Chenoweth
- you blast Broadway cast recordings while cleaning your room
- you can sing every song from Wicked
- sheetzbox.com, musicaltheatreaudition.com, musicals.net - your best friends<3

--People tell you about naughty children and you instinctively (and seriously) suggest they try Brimstone and Treacle
--You get angry when people say "High School Musical" is their favorite musical
--Life sucks when you aren't in a show
--The last performance of a show seems like the end of the world
--When you pass the auditorium in the hall, you tear up a tad
--You delete anything that isn't a cast recording from your iPod to make way for more cast recordings
--You obsess about a show for weeks after you see it.

...your city is struck by a 7.1 magnitude earthquake (at 4:35am) and after checking that you and your family are OK and your house isn't lying in ruins around you, your first thought is "I wonder how the props room at the theatre looks".

When you see a furniture commercial whose tagline is "Happiness is just around the corner", and you proceed to start humming "Death is just around the corner". Later that night, you log onto facebook to find that a friend has informed you of said commercial on your wall.

I have people constantly testing me on this. So far I've only been tripped up on one word: popsicle.

You know youre a theatre geek when:
-This conversation occurs in choir during a discussion of the Lion King:
Random stupid girl: I love the monkey!
My friend: Rafiki is a baboon, right?
Me: Yes. Well, no, actually. In the movie, Rafiki is acually a hybrid of a baboon and a mandrill. Rafiki has the face of a mandrill, but his tail and body are more like a baboon. And Rafiki is a female in the Broadway musical because they thought that the play didn't have any strong female charectars. Sarabi, Simba's mom, was more of a backround member.
My friend: Um, wtf?
-When every other sentence you say is about a musical. Or is a line from a musical. Or is a song lyric. Or you just start singing.
-When you find out the Book of Mormon is coming to your city on tour, you begin to scream, hyperventilate, and tell everyone you know. Twice.
-When you go to school and tell people you're going to see Kristen Chenoweth live in concert next week, nobody knows who the hell you're talking about.
-When you instantly become annoyed if someone says that their favorite musical is Wicked because you know its the only musical they've ever seen.
-When everyting on this thread totally applies to you, and so you type them up and hang it on your wall.
-When all your happiest memories are from being in a show.
