Seriously though, Salonga actually makes it a good sounding song, I'm impressed.

Post Links
If you actually wish for a LINK to be more noticeable, you can:

1. Use the font color function and use contrasting colors

2. Be clear that you are posting a link, such as HERE.

3. Use the BOLD and UNDERLINE functions above to differentiate what is text versus what is your link.

4. LAST - use the REVIEW button to check what your posting looks like...

Post Lea Salonga Interview on BroadwayWorld
BroadwayWorld has an interview with Lea Salonga where she discusses her reactions to Wicked. It's interesting to see how much she identifies with the character of Elphaba, relating it to her experience of being the only Asian in the cast of Les Misérables.

I like Lea, I like Wicked, but not together.
She's 38, she's a bit too old. Yeah, I known Ana was old too, but still, she's not going to be in the musical anytime soon, and she's just getting older.

Can she even play Glinda? Glinda sings to high F over soprano C, so can Lea reach those high notes? Because she usaully sings Alto/Mezzo roles like 'Ponine, Kim, and Fantine. :?
So if i had to choose her as Elphaba or Glinda, if go with Elphie.

Should we really give Lea a happy ending anyways? Like, seriously isn't she used to the whole 'lose the guy then die' thing already. (even though Marius was never Eponine's to keep...) Haha

38 isn't that old for the role. Besides Ana, Julia Murney played the role at 39 or 40, and I think even Idina was in her late 30's when she played the role. personally, I'd be interested in seeing Salonga take it on.

It's much easier for an actress in her late 30s/early 40s to get away with playing Elphaba rather than Glinda. The green covers a lot. Plus, Lea Salonga is quite young looking for her age. I think she could pull it off. She definitely looks younger than Julia Murney/Ana Gasteyer.
