Post Womens' Roles
My community theatre group is planning to do this show next spring, and I was trying to see what I should aim for when I audition. I don't think I'm going to be the narrator, so I know I'm going to wind up in the ensemble, but that's fine. I was just wondering if there were any cameo/bit parts I might wind up with?

My group is for all ages, with small children up to fully fledged adults and I'll be 19 during the show, if it matters. I'm a mezzo-soprano.

There's the small role of Potiphar's wife, off the top of my head.

If you're 19, they might pass over you for Potiphar's wife in favor of a cougar-type.

As far as roles open to you, it depends on the production. You might be chosen as a random solo singer in one of the ensemble numbers. It's hard to predict with Joseph cause productions vary little things a lot. If they include the Sphinx and Queen Victoria and whatnot they might like you for one of those parts.

But really, other than the narrator, there aren't outstanding female roles.

In the production I did, since we had several talented female actresses, the narrator role was split into three parts (I got one segment :P ) and we divided the lines and solos (easier to manage all the memorizing as well!) it was a lot of fun interacting with each other on stage as well. :D
