I love both the version with Lesley Ann Warren/Stuart Damon AND the newest one, featuring Brandy/Paolo Montalban. :) I'm not too keen on the original version with Julie Andrews though. Julie is okay in the role, but I didn't appreciate the prince's voice very much.

I've only seen the Julie Andrews and Brandy versions. Does the third one differ?

As far as the race issues, I do agree that colorblind casting goes only so far, but for this type of fantasy show and the way they utilized it in the movie, I liked it. It forced you to focus on the characters instead of how they looked, which I feel is appropriate in something fantasy-like.

it was on today on ABC Family. It has been awhile since I saw it. I loved the music. BTW, someone was asking where to get the music, I have downloaded a couple of the songs from one of the Disney CD's, try amazon for the mp3.

i love the interpretation of the Brandy version but i think that brandy herself was a huge miscast!!!! w/ the talent of the rest of that cast she was completely dwarfed esp when she was singing w/ the prince. and i'm not defending her i just think that w/ stars like Whitney, Bernadette, Woppie, Jason, and Victor Cinderella should have been cast as an unknown like Leslie anne warren was. it probably would have made a huge difference as far as the response to the movie itself. and the size of the audience would most likely have gone unhindered. but as far as the art direction is concerned i feel it is far better than any other production to date.

I recently saw the Roger's and Hammerstine's version of Cinderella starring Brandy as Cinderella. Another well-known star played the Godmother, but I can't remember who it is. Anyway, I just wanted to know your veiws on the movie. Did it do the musical justice? Was the interpritation good? Etc...

Is this the newer Cinderella movie? I think I have seen that one!

^ I'm pretty sure it's the newer one. I saw it years ago, I'd completely forgotten about that movie until I read this!
