I know that Theatrical Rights Worldwide currently owns the rights to Spamalot, and they won't allow people to put on productions of it in America except for the national tour. How long do you think it will be before Americans will be allowed to license the show for amateur productions?

Typically after they stop making money off of the big productions. Generally rights get released after the Broadway productions and tours end. At least that's the case with MTI.

... yep, and Les Mis should be available any minute now!

... now.

... now.

Just teasing. Give it a couple years for the big tour to clear out and regional companies to collect their share.

What are you talking about? Musical Theatre West in Long Beach, CA did a production this past June. They used the Broadway sets and everything.
