Has anyone seen the UK Tour? I've only read a couple of reviews, but both were poor, saying how the runtime is very short, the first half being only 40 minutes (!) and how the re-write of 'You Won't Succeed on Broadway' into 'You Won't Succeed in Showbiz (if you don't have any stars)' not only removes the entire Jewish theme, but is very poor.

I was going to go and see it, but it doesn't sound great :/

Any comments?

While I have doubts as to how funny the "British version" of "You Won't Succeed" is, I can't help but think it might work better in the West End.

Broadway has been traditionally a Jewish place, where most musicals are written by Jews and often performed by them. In contrast, in the West End, every show is typically headlined by a big star, usually someone from TV. It might work, it might not. I'd have to hear it.

I was it years ago (maybe 10) at the Shaftesbury Theatre in London with Peter Davison (a highly revered actor who once played doctor who) alongside Hannah Waddingham. Two big talents. The show was slick and very impressive. It was at the top of it's game. He lyrics at this time were definately Jews, not showbiz?!?!

The show was downsized and downsized to smaller venues and on tour. Many reviews unanimously said the quality of the show diminished as the years went on, from the quality of the sets to calibre and ability of performers.

I saw it again with Alan Dale a year or so later. He was Arthur. I can tell you he comic timing wasnt too hot and he really struggled with singing
