this is coming to Utah in August I think, I am so excited, but I am going to ask my mom if I can buy tickets for it and she will want to get tickets with me... Then it will get awkward, when the Lancelot parts come on, there is going to be awkward tension between the two of us...

I have only listened to the CD and you can tell it can't be to good for a youngin to go see. But some people will beg to differ.

Edit: I just had to add this, so I was looking on Broadway Across America and it said age Appropriateness for Adia was 13+ and for Spam a lot it was 8+ and Hairspary 13+. something just a little messed up here.

I'n sure that the 12 year old has seen/heard/or done worst than that. You can only keep a kid sheltered for so long and nowadays thats age of "innocence" is becoming younger and younger.

How sad.

Andy.

The statement or my views on it?

Can I say both?

At 12, I was forbidden to watch anything higher than PG. Film or theatre.

Monty Python is not for children under the age of 16.

Andy.

I think this depends on the maturity of the child. I'm thirteen. I've seen RENT, The Producers, Avenue Q and my mom wants to take me to Spamalot (but I want to see Les Mis instead.) Has it messed me up more than any of my friends? No. However, I've seen all of those mature musicals within the last year.

It depends on the actual 12-year old. I wouldn't take some 18-year olds I know to see Spamalot because they don't act mature enough. I know adults that shouldn't see Spamalot. It's not the age, it's the maturity.

Besides, chances are she's already seen everything in Spamalot and then some more.

Agreed. I'm fifteen, but wouldn't put it past my twenty-five year old brother to be too immature for it.

I think a lot of it will go over your brother's head, but most of it will have him cracking up. Most of the dirtier stuff is quick and painless and shouldn't be much of a problem.

Perhaps let him see Monty Python and the Holy Grail first, and see what his reaction is.

Coincidentally, I am a mature 12 year old, and it didn't screw me up.

Quick notes:

The original post was written in June of 2006.
The author of the original post only made that one post in this whole website.
The author never returned to read the posts, according to her profile.
Even if she had returned, I'm sure she would have seen the show by now.

Good day.

I don't think a twelve-year-old would have any problem with the content of the show, and it's such a brilliant musical.
