Wicked will be played at Det Ny Teater in 2011. Exciting!

Open auditions will be held early March this year:

Yup, it's a non-replica production. Knowing them, it'll look pretty similar to the original design, though. At least "Mary Poppins" and "Chicago" did.

Cast has been announced, and some pictures and a promo video is online:

Yes! Lisa is directing it! This is going to be brilliant, I can't wait to see it! I would recommend this production to everybody! I bet the production will use new choreography, a new set design, new costumes, etc. seeing that Lisa like to make original approaches.

I think it's exactly what Wicked needs. I could be much better now.

Wasn't too fond of what Lisa Kent did with "Les Miserables" last season. But then again, I really liked their "Mary Poppins" this season... So I'm exited.

Well, that is mostly about taste, but the cool thing with her is that she always tries new stuff!

The costumes look pretty much the same from looking at the bubble dress and black gown off the pics on the site. But new choreography, set designs etc, would be fantastic. I'm sick of seing all the replica productions... \:D/

That's part of the reason why I love Elisabeth so much. It has never had a single replica production anywhere in the world it has played, except maybe when the original show was revived in Vienna, but even then some of the costumes and stuff were slightly altered and what-not. It's really cool to see all the different interpretations and analyze them...

I am battling with myself if I should go and see this version in copenhagen or go and see a replica show in London. My troubles isnt as much the costumes and replica/none replica but more how for example Defying Gravity will sound on danish, any clue on that yet?

Judging from previously translated musicals at Det Ny Teater, they do a good job with the lyrics. To my ears anyway.

A virtual costume reel of the "steampunk design" for Danish Wicked is up:
