For me, I'm a mezzo whose voice breaks around a B. I have a good chest voice sound till an A and I have a pretty good mix to a C. I'm 14, and that's all I'll be doing for now. I can't even imagine having to belt more than an octave higher than that for Wicked...

You're only 14?

I would love to be able to belt or mix, partly because I may be able to hit the cheno note if I do XD, but hurt my voice a little bit during cheerleading, so I'm waiting until college to learn how do do either. Also, if I wait until then, my voice will probably be fully developed.

belting is hard. i mean, there are really 2 types of belters. people who can belt a little and then get lessons and learn to belt, and people who nauturally have a high belting range. i have a nautural one, but if you don't have one you can still have one with lessons

Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm not a natural belter. Anyway...don't take this the wrong way, but I have a hard time believing that you can belt a G5.

im 13. and dont say wow that's young you shouldn't belt you'll hurt your voice because i've already had this conversation. summary: i only belt when i have to to save my voice, but my soprano voice sucks, i take voice lessons, i can belt for very very long periods of time and not hurt my voice, my voice is fine i save it... etc etc.
