Post london version of grease
does anyone know how to get the rights for the london version of grease? or even the 2007 revival

the 07 revival arent out because it's touring

and what's the diff between the real version and the london version?

its not legal to interpolate those songs into thel icenced script.

i know it's not legal to do so - that's why i've been trying to get info about how to get the rights to some of the songs -

Yes, and I've always considered it a shame that such a practice is not legal, considering certain interpolated numbers could greatly enhance the efficacy of a performance. I personally love eclectical mixing and matching, to step outside the box...

Actually, it is possible to obtain permission to include the individual songs in the show. I choreographed a production about 5 years ago, where permission was granted to include "Grease", "Hopelessly Devoted to You" and "You're the One That I Want". It's not even that difficult to do: all you have to do is negotiate with the organisation that grants the rights for the show. It costs extra, but given the popularity of the show, it is not a factor that breaks the bank and throws out the budget completely.

The London version of the show is awesome. I saw a new professional production of that version earlier this year and enjoyed every aspect of it immensely, from the staging and choreography to the costumes and the fantastic set design. What a blast!
