I just found a preview of the Swedish production of SA, and wanted to know what your thoughts were on it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqzkyFRZ4l4

I personally love how "Touch Me" was staged in it, but I think the actors look too old. I'd still love to see it!

It looks pretty good! "Touch Me" does look very interesting and cool. Though I'm a little weirded out by some of the girls' costumes. And Moritz is a bit too weird for me.

I like the plain-ness of their costumes. It reflects how staunch and strict their parents were. Moritz is a lil weird, but it works. Ilse is beautiful and has a great voice!

In all honesty, I preferred the characterizations I could see in the Swedish version to those in the American version. Moritz looks much closer to the original Moritz from the play.

What does that even mean? What, where you alive in the late 1800's when the play was first performed?

I meant the original play's characterization of Moritz.

I think the Swedish production actually looks great! :D

I love how they did My Junk and Don't Do Sadness/Blue Wind.

Yeah!

Sure, it might be different from the AMAZING choreography from the original, but I think it really shows how a teenager, ahem, "thinks."

I saw SA a couple months ago.
I really like the cast recording, I listen to it just like contemp music. Some of the lyrics are a bit far-fetched. But some of the lyrics are BRILL.

I HATED the book. In the beginning it was just trying to be funny.. it just got worse from there.

BEST LIGHTING I"VE EVER SEEN.
And staging and stage decorating. Visually GORGEOUS.
