Post Sweet Charity & Tick Tick Boom auditions..Suggestions?
Hi! I have two auditions coming up…one for sweet charity and the other for tick tick boom. I am a female mezzo.

Anyone have any suggestions? I don’t want to use anything that is overdone. What would you use?

For the Sweet Charity audition, I would sing something from another musical from around that era. 'Whatever Lola Wants' from Damn Yankees would be pretty good, though I'm not sure if that's not overdone. Maybe something from the Pajama Game.

As for Tick Tick Boom, that's more of a puzzle. Normally I'd suggest singing something from another show by that composer, but seeing as your only other choice is automatically Rent, steer clear of that. Everyone will be doing it. For some reason, I think that something by Jason Robert Brown would be good (Last Five Years, Parade, Songs For A New World).

Thanks for the suggestions...I ended up going with:

Life of the party from "the wild party" for Sweet Charity

and All Grown Up from "Bare the musical" for Tick tick boom

I don't think either of these are used too much and they are both impressive vocally. They also fit the shows I'm auditioning for.
