Post Musicals with very few guys?
Hello,

My HS theatre company has (at present) 9 guys. Now that would be all well and fine, if 4 of them weren't graduating this year, and 2 more the year after that.

So my question is, what musicals have between 3 and 5 guys in them? (If content would be an issue, put that in your response please)

Thanks for your help!

comped

EDIT: I should also mention that all 5 of us are Basses.

"Zombie Prom", I think?

Some content stuff, but my Catholic high school from freshman & sophomore year did it.

"Annie" - possibly? I forgot the exact number.

A few years before me, they did Annie.

ZP sounds fun. Except I'm not sure how 5 basses will handle the tenor parts. Probably badly.

You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown
9 to 5 (only male leads are Hart and Joe)
Legally Blonde (Emmett, Warner, Professor Callahan, plus ensemble)
Godspell (only characters that have to be male are Jesus and John the Baptist/Judas)

A Year With Frog and Toad .. since the characters are all creatures, most can be cast either way, esp Snail, the Birds, etc.

5 guys is a lot in some ways. Don't choose something too girly or there will never be any more of you.

Sadly, that was rejected. Too inappropriate. I was gonna audition for Billy...

Mamma Mia? Not sure if the rights are released yet so you'd have to check. But there are the three fathers, the fiance and the barman? And the vicar, but there are female vicars. You'd have to direct around the stag night friends I guess. But I don't think any of them have any lines.
