Post Where does one find a composer?
Exactly what the topic says.

I'm 19, and finished writing the libretto for a bizarrely genre'd musical about a year ago - but the person who originally agreed to write the score for me has so far done almost nothing. (I wouldn't even call what he's done a proper start.)
I'm sick of waiting. I can't physically do anything until the music is done, despite having most everything to do with logistics and production pre-planned; And while this project is incomplete I can't focus my entire attention on the one-act play I'm currently supposed to be writing.

Does anyone know where I can find an independant composer willing to work on a percentage-of-sale basis who wont mind working closely with a playwright as young as I am?

I'm desperate to start off my carreer goddamnit, and "local" producers that I've approached have already stated that they wont even look at what I've written until it has a score (or at the very least some music samples).

Please help?

Is there a college or university nearby that has a music department? This sounds like the perfect opportunity for a music composition student.

There is, but since I dont belong to any of the nearby universities and am not studying/haven't studied theatre, nobody seems to want to take me seriously.

Perhaps you can also go to a theatre... if there's a local theatre near you maybe someone who works there can get you in touch with someone. :D
