Post Directing - First Time
HELP!!
My school have written their own musical! (not as bad as it sounds) but i am to direct having only worked with small casts before i'm now working with 60 kids ranging from yr 7 (aged 11) to yr 13 (aged 18). I need advice on organisation and how to assert myself as the director, whilst acually being one of their pers!
HELP!!

Sometimes, it helps if you see a scene going wrong to jump onstage and actually show them what you "see" (visualize as a director). Also, be sure to give good reasons for stage movement. Don't just say "Oh go other there" - give them a reason, a motive, a purpose -- especially do this with the younger kids. I think since you have experience in directing, it shouldn't be too hard. I wish you the best of luck.

The first time I directed, my biggest problem was trying to fix everything at once...

I soon learned to fix things gradually. Not every vocal inflection has to be perfect the first time reading through. Not every movement has to be perfect the second time through.
Layer it.

This may be entirely obvious, but it wasn't to me.
