Post Who is Perez?
Dear Monsieur D'Arque,

I think that there can be people who are naturally wise, for some reason or another. I think that experience builds wisdom, but I don't necessarily think that Nettie had to have stereotypical experiences in order to be wise.

Oh, and once and for all, who is Perez?

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Post Carousel's movie Nettie
I have recently been listening to a radio documentry here in England about the song 'You'll Never Walk alone' with Christine Johnson as a guest speaker being the original Nettie Fowler talking about the writing of the song and Rodgers & Hammerstein and it states she is 96 this year so that would make her 33 in 1945 when she first played Nettie.

Post Re: Carousel's movie Nettie
Dear "Carousel" Fans,

Thanks for the info., Joseph Taylor.

Well, 33 isn't that much older than 29, but it IS older, so I guess that Nettie shouldn't exactly be portrayed as being TOO young...?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

I don't think Nettie having gone through a similiar ordeal as Julie is necessarily that bad. Actually, I think the fact that she has gone through it all herself adds more emotion and power to "You'll Never Walk Alone"
