Post Carousel Audition
Hello! My high school is doing Carousel for our musical this year. I want the part of Carrie Pipperidge very badly! =] I wanted to know if anyone had some tips on my auditions, (talking, songs, motions).

I am also auditioning for the parts of Nettie, and The Starkeeper(teacher is making it male/female).

I am an alto/2nd soprano.....some songs I can be a first soprano.

Thanks in advance for the help! :P

Carrie is somewhat of a comic relief character. For R & H Carousel is pretty heavy on the moral deliema stuff but She and Enoch can really help make the show a musical COMEDY. I would sing something lighter and funnier than your average song, but it also has to be a more traditional song since it is R & H.
How about:
Adeliade's Lamnet from Guys and Dolls
Mr. Goldstone from Gypsy
That'll Show Him from Forum
I Cain't Say No from Oklahoma! although this song is very overdone...
Don't Tell Mama from Cabaret

I'm not sure that the Pipperidge-Snows can make the show a musical comedy, although they can definitely add comis relief to the very dramatic proceedings of this musical play.

Later days
