This Nearly Was Mine - South Pacific
There is Nothing Like a Dame - South Pacific
If I Loved You - Carousel

Of course, I love practically everything they've done, but those are my three favorites. My favorite musical of theirs is probably South Pacific, even though almost everything else of theirs comes in at an extremely close second. :-)

Some Enchanted Evening and Edelweiss. I think these songs show R&H in their element. The words and music are perfectly welded together with subliminal messages. No grudges against the explicit message of You'll Never Walk Alone, but these two songs I've listed convey some more powerful messages.
I'd also like to confess a soft spot for the gravity of Climb Every Mountain, a song that conveys an inner strength despite its inspirational message. I like the way Rodgers sets the line "...a dream that will nead all the love you can give...", as if he reaches for that delicate high note on the word "love."
And there's the genius of Do-Re-Mi. Beneath the facade of a catchy tune that teaches the scale, it's a song about believing in yourself and relishing the simple pleasures in life as you achieve your goals.
