And why.

My favourite is Devil Take the Hindmost because it has the coolest melody.

I'm just curious.

Till I hear you sing. But Beauty Underneath and Devil Take the Hindmost aren't far behind.

I voted "Till I Hear You Sing", but only because it is a personal favorite of mine to perform. If I should pick the song I like best listening to, I think it would be "Devil Takes the Hindmost - Quartet", and if it should be which song I think fits best within the story I think it would have to be "My Dear Old Friend".

Out of the ones I've heard, I like Bathing Beauty the most. It paints such a vivid image of the atmosphere of trashy vaudeville, and is fun to boot.

Yup, that's the one I really wanted to vote for, but I think it wasn't room for more alternatives in the poll.

I left it out of the poll since it doersn't have any qualities. It is boring, pointless and ugly.

Till I hear you sing is the only one that stood out for me. None of the material holds a candle to the original PotO.

I love the title song, Devil Takes the Hindmost and Till I Hear You Sing. I think the soundtrack is incredible and really underrated!

I recently saw the Love Never Dies DVD UK premiere at the Mayfair Hotel, attended by ALW himself! You can read my review and my run down of the Top 10 Phantoms of all time at http://www.cheaptheatretickets.com/phan ... the-opera/

"Till I Hear You Sing" - it grows on me more every time I hear it.

I also have a soft spot for "Only For Him". It's simple but it's fun, and with a better lyric it could convey a bit of emotion as well as fun, in a "power of cheap music" sort of way.

Have always thought "Devil Take the Hindmost" is overrated - unless you count being in a minor key, there is really nothing distinctive about the tune at all that I can see.

As I have now seen the entire show on film I have really grown to like the title song. The excerpts of the song that took only the middle section as a sample did not do the song justice. I think I listen to this song more than all the others now. I really think it is a quality piece of music.

Of the songs in the Melbourne version, I'd have to vote for Dear Old Friend. The way the characters' different discussions relate, intersect and overlap is effective, and reminiscent of Notes. I really enjoy Only for You as well.
