How well does this character have to sing in the musical? Does he have a solo, or just solo LINE that are WITHIN a song? I am not a good singer at all (but love musicals and always go for the non-singing roles) Beauty and the Beast doesn't seem to have a big part that is strictly non-singing. I REALLY like the part of Monsieur =D'arque, but is it a strong singing part?

If he just has singing lines WITHIN a song, I can pull that off (I've done that before) but does he sing a lot? Many solo lines? Does the singing have to be strong? heavy difficult melodies?

How many lines does he have? How many scenes? (yes, I know this is a very snobby question, but I just want to know what kind of part he is in the stage version and I am more interested in acting than singing)

Sorry for the late reply. Monsieur D'Arque only has one scene in the middle of Act II. He has solo lines in a song called "Maisons de Lunes" and has to hit a high A in the harmonies.

I am aware that there are some productions that omit the song. Possibly because they want the actor to sound more like Tony Jay from the film, and… people with voices like Tony Jay generally don't have high As.
