Post subject:  BATBJr Audition Help

OK, I really need some help. I have an audition in less than 2 weeks for Beauty and the Beast Jr, and I’m really hoping to get Belle. The last show we did was Les Miserables and I got Eponine, so the directors know that I can sing and act. The problem is the song choice. I was thinking of singing “A New Life” from Jekyll and Hyde. I’ve already got that song down perfectly, or should i try a different approach? Would the directors want a softer song for Belle? Anyone have any songs in mind? (btw I’m a mezzo soprano)

I think "A New Life" would be great! :) But if for some reason you decide you dont want to do that song then I think that maybe "Colors of the Wind" from Pocahontas would be a good one or "Not for the life of me" from Thoroughly Modern Millie would also be a good choice

Thanks for the reply. In the end I decided to sing "A Change In Me" from beauty and the beast (which is cut out of the jr version). I think I did well in the audition and I'm just awaiting the results now. The cast list should be up tonight! Fingers crossed :)
