Post Madame de la Grande Bouche
Hey guys!

So, I got cast in my company's production of Beauty and the Beast this year as Madame de la Grande Bouche. I auditioned for Belle, so I was a bit crushed when I didn't get the part, but I'm way past that now, I'm happy to be in the show at all. I think it was just a brief mourning period!

Anyways, the reason why I'm posting is because I'd love some advice on how to portray the Madame? I've read all the other threads on here about her, plus some on other sites and stuff. Has anyone else here played her? Was she fun? Also looking for some advice on her costume once she becomes human again. What was your costume in your production like for her?

Thanks guys :D I'm SO excited :D

Madame de la Grande Bocuhe is over-the-top, fun, and dramatic. Shes really fun to play and watch. She has some solos, as you probably know and she has an amazing costume. For the show of BATB I was in, her costume was just beautiful. When shes human again, her costume is still dramatic just not as much of a "wardrobe."
I played Babette and seriously, every character in this show are really quirky and fun to play, especially when you have a great cast. In my opinion supporting roles are more fun to play than the leads, in most cases. You have a great part, Break a leg and put up pics. :)

No! I'm in Bacchus Marsh. Performing Art's Headquarters! We should swap performance details! I'd love to come see yours! I could bring some of my friends from the theatre! We always love seeing other company's productions of the shows we do. When we did Seussical The Musical, another company did it and the whole company went to see it!

Anyways, let me know the details and I'll see if I can come :D

Woah man, everyone's doing Batb! We're getting our costumes in a few weeks, after they have been on rotation pretty much non-stop from a zillion companies using them! I'd love to see your show!
And I'd love it if you wanted to see my show :-) Are you new here? You can PM me your details or vice versa. Tix go on sale very very soon. Oh my goodness now I'm so excited :) :)
