Post The rights for BATB
Hi all, I was wondering if anyone knows about how much the rights are for the adult BATB? Every year the members of my community theater sit down and give their ideas as to what show we should do for the next season (we do one a year). I want to suggest BATB for the future but I know they'd think we wouldn't be able to afford it. But I was wondering how much the rights actually are. We'd probably do 4 shows with about 325 in each audience. I don't know if that matters. The usual types of shows we do are the classics like R & H shows, The Music Man, Fiddler, etc. Thanks!

"I don't know about you, but I'd like to make today worth remembering."

Past Roles:
Marian Paroo-"The Music Man"
Nellie Forbush- "South Pacific"
Hope Harcourt- "Anything Goes"
Laurey Williams- "Oklahoma!"

It all depends on how much you charge for tickets, how long the run is, and how many seats are in your theater. I know it's pretty high, compared to some other 'classic' musicals like ones you listed, but I couldn't quote a price, only MTI can do that. Someone from your theater has to submit a request with that info.
For such a short run and a show that has so many technical aspects, I don't know if it would be worth it, financially, for your theater to do it. Unless you can extend the run. ??
