What is a 'synthesised' singer?

Someone that they use equipment, (auto-tune etc), to sound good. It's used on people who can't actually sing. Think, Ashley Tisdale, Nicole Kidman, Amanda Bynes, Brittany Snow, Corbin Bleu, etc. It's used all the time in modern pop music as well.

I'm casting this based on acting, not singing, just because there are so many people that I think could act their roles very well who may not necessarily vocally talented.

- Director: Tim Burton
~ Witch: Nicole Kidman
~ Little Red: Saoirse Ronan
~ Cinderella: Anne Hathaway
~ Baker's Wife: Kate Winslet
~ Baker: Jude Law
~ Jack: Jamie Campbell Bower
~ Jack's Mother: Meryl Streep
~ Rapunzel: Amanda Seyfried
~ Stepmother: Helena Bonham Carter
~ Stepsisters: Natalie Portman and ???

That's all I can think of right now. I'll probably edit later.

Ok pleeease not Tim Burton, not after the Sweeney let down (at least on my end). I'd say Bill Condon.
Now, I have to say it Patti LuPone as the witch, maybe Christine Ebersole.
Little Red, I like the idea of Dakota...
Cinderella, Ann Hathaway would just naild this role
Narrator, I'd put Hugh Laurie because he's awesome....

And I'll think of some other later...

Here's the celebrity cast that'd I'd LOVE to be in the movie:

The Narrator/Mysterious Man: Christopher Walken
The Baker: Neil Patrick Harris
The Baker's Wife: Kate Hudson/ Sara Ramirez (I couldn't decide)
The Witch: Idina Menzel
Little Red: Jenna Ushkowitz
Jack: Edward Sanders
Cinderella: Anne Hathaway
Cinderella's Prince: Hugh Jackman
Rapunzel's Prince: Harry Connick Jr.
Rapunzel: Emmy Rossum

Those are the main ones. Now, truthfully, I'd rather see Megan Hilty and Annaleigh Ashford as either/both Cinderella and/or Rapunzel. But meh.

Lol, Amy Adams could sing CIRCLES around Anne Hathaway if we're going to get down to it. And no, Florinda and Lucinda need to be good singers. They're exposed quite a bit in the show, and it'd be ridiculous if they couldn't sing.

And no, Brittany Snow was synthesized in Hairspray, so don't even use that as an excuse. She and Amanda Bynes are the ONLY reasons "Mama, I'm a Big Girl Now" was cut from the movie.

No....they cut it because they couldn't figure out a way to do it withouth doing a split screen (which they wanted to avoid.)

Witch: Catherine Zeta-Jones (Meryl would have been good back in the day)
Narrator/Mysterious Man: Dick Van Dyke
Cinderella: Anne Hathaway
Baker: Robin Williams
Baker's Wife: Goldie Hawn
Jack: Jamie Campbell Bower
Jack's Mother: Roseanne Barr
Little Red Riding Hood: Jeanette McCurdy
Cinderella's Stepmother: Betty Buckley
Stepsisters: Aly and AJ
Cinderella's Mother: Betsy Joslyn
Wolf: Johnny Depp
Rapunzel: Jayne Wisener
Cinderella's Prince: Jonathan Groff
Rapunzel's Prince: James marsden
Grandmother: Betty White
Giant: Susan Sarandon

I kind of think Tim Burton could direct...but I'm afraid he totally wreck act one.

Not too good with director choices. But if Tim Burton could tone down the creepy, he might make a good choice. As for the characters...

Witch - I think Barbara Streisand would KILL it. (In a good way)
Cinderella - Anne Hathaway. ALL THE WAY. Or maybe Kristin Bell? She's a good singer.
Baker's Wife - Kelli O' Hara maybe? I know she's a choice for Cinderella but I can see her in this part.
Baker - I seriously CANNOT come up with anyone for this part. My mind is completely blanking.
LRRH - Agreeing with most on here, Dakota Fanning, considering she can sing. She did well in the Runaways. Was she dubbed in that?
Cinderella's Prince - Andy Karl
Rapunzel's Prince - Richard H. Blake (They look like each other, don't they?)
Rapunzel - I'm gonna go with Megan Hilty. She's so adorable!
Stepmother - Michelle Pfiefer or Christine Baranski. Hands down.
Florinda - Brittany Snow
Lucinda - Reese Witherspoon
Wolf - Will Ferrell. (Come on. You know you wanna see it happen.)
Giant - BERNADETTE. We HAVE to get her in on this somehow. Even if it is just a small part. It would be epic, admit it.
