Post "Into the Woods" Movie Cast...
Cast the film version of Into the Woods. Also pick a director. There is a catch though. You cannot pick people who have had anything to do with the various productions (sorry Joanna and Lakme).

Go for it.....

Tim Burton as director.

Christoher Lee as Narrator/Mysterious Man

Hugh Jackman as Cinderella's Prince

Angela Lansbury as Jack's Mother

Catherine Zeta Jones as the Witch.

I'll post more as I brood on it.

I like Salome's choices so far.

Kristin Chenoweth as Rapunzel (ha ha)

If Dakota Fanning can sing, she'd be a good Little Red.

Just keep Rosario Dawson and Emmy Rossum thousands of miles away.

For some reason, I could see Natalie Portman as Cinderella, if she could sing. Or maybe Kelli O'Hara.

Catherine Zeta-Jones would be brilliant as the witch, imo. And Dakota would be so cute as Little Red.

Salome....Brilliant idea picking Tim Burton!!

Mine would be:

Director: Don't laught but I would love to see what Lars Von Trier would do with this piece. Otherwise, Tim Burton.

Narrator: Tom Hanks (why not?)

The Baker: William Macy

The Bakers Wife: Emma Thompson, Cate Blanchett

The Witch: MERYL F*CKING STREEP!!! She can sing and we all know how she can act. Those who disagree, just wait till "The Devil Wears Prada" comes out this summer. If Meryl is not available then Patricia Clarkson. My brother said "Demi Moore" and at first I laughed, but somehow I can kinda see it. She would need to be dubbed though.

Cinderella: Kate Winslett (with a wig), Reese Witherspoon, Kate Becks.

Rapunzel: Chenoweth

Jack: He's too old now but I would have loved to see Johnny Depp play Jack.

Little Red: no clue

Cinderellas Prince: Depp, Kanye West (why not? haha), Jake Gyllenhaal

Rapunzels Prince: Heath Ledger (perhaps a Brokeback reunion?),

Jacks Mother: Judi Dench. I would love to see her be all crazy. She is always playing a fine woman.

I like a lot of your choices, Ciaron. Would it be odd if I told you I think Robin Williams would make a good Narrator/Mysterious Man?
