Post Comfortable low female songs
Hey I'm the leader of a small theater program for kids and I'm trying to find a song for a girl who is a talented actress but has a small low range. If anyone knows and low mezzo or contralto song appropriated for an 11 year old I would be very thankful

How about "I Know Things Now" from Into The Woods? The character, while usually played by an older actress, is around that age, and in my head, it doesn't seem that rangy.

"I Know Things Now" has some D's and even E's in it, I believe. I wouldn't consider it low at all. But hey, that's just me!

How about "Learn Your Lessons Well" from Godspell, "Freddy, My Love" from Grease, "I'm Not That Girl" from Wicked, "Only in New York" from Thoroughly Modern Millie, or "Hold On" from The Secret Garden?

Mind you, while they are all content appropriate, not really any of them are age appropriate. HOWEVER, for her high school productions later on, they may come in handy.

"Johnny One Note" from Babes in Arms may also be a good one to consider.
