Post Musical Confessions
Hey guys! I've been lurking on here for a while now :shifty: and I thought that it would be interesting if we had a thread in which we could vent our musical confessions (whilst avoiding anything hateful!).
I'll start things off: When I first saw Ellen Greene as Audrey in Little Shop Of Horrors, I thought she couldn't sing.
Who's next? ;)

I like Gary Morris better than Colm Wilkinson...though I'm not a fan of either.

I find West Side Story merely average..also dated and feel the book is creaky.

I always have and always will love Andrew Lloyd Webber. Sue me!

I also like Miss Saigon more than Les Miserables.

Love Never Dies was the worst musical I have ever seen or heard in my 22 years of living.
West Side Story only has a good score. Everything else about it. Meh
Wicked is overrated
I hate the broadway cast of Phantom of the Opera and they only get only worse every year and they need to let that chandelier fly down.
Tanz Der Vampire has to come to Broadway and be correctly done
Nick Jonas should never be allowed to be in a musical ever again
I'm only meh about Norm Lewis as Javert
Never cared for the Little Mermaid
Can't stand most musicals based on movies
Drowsy Chaperone needs more recognition
I wish Disney threaticals would do more original work
I hate the new version of Jekyll and Hyde.

I find Les Miserable terribly boring and overblown.
I think the score of Love Never Dies is alright. It's just the story that's terrible (and much of the lyrics).
I do not like Patti Lupone.
I find the Quintet in A Little Night Music superfluous.

Rock of Ages may be one of my top 10 all time favorite shows.

Be quiet in advance.

I think that Earl Carpenter is a better Javert than Philip Quast
(prepares for a beating by the legions of Quast fans :D )

^ Well I won't blame you since Earl is a great Javert.

I don't like any of the 2010-2012 cast of Les Miserables.
I hate pretty much everything about Jekyll and Hyde.
I think Phantom of the Opera is overrated like most of Andrew Lloyd Webber's stuff.
I don't have a problem with the new orchestration for Les Miz other than Javert's suicide.

I hate most of Sondheim's work, apart from Sweeney Todd, which weirdly I love. Annoyingly, I find his style of writing easier to sing than most other composers...
I recognise how technically brilliant it is, but most of the time it bores me to tears
