Dear Unnamed:

Seriously? 180 turn, I see? Trying to prove why you're not interested in me? Good luck. As much as I love your Catholic side, my answer is no, if I find out you lied. Which I just now have a feeling you'll probably say any day now.

Dear Unnamed C:

Stay away from him.

Dear Unnamed D:

Stay away from her.

Dear New Director coming from Out of Town:

your ad stated you needed to cast 3 older women.

You did not cast ANY of the women who showed up @ your call.

You only called back 1, myself.

Gee I thought I could nail at least one of those roles.

Why don't you just state up front that you want to bring in your buddies from outta of town?

ahhh yes I remember those naive days when I thought looking around at the 100 other auditionees gave me a perspective on how the casting would go.

The only reason it took you weeks to cast this production is cuz you were negotiating housing, travel expenses, and per diem for your gal pals. ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)

^ That's actually following Equity rules. Even if you already have cast in mind, or existing right-of-first-refusal contracts with other actors, you have to hold auditions -- it's some sort of fair play clause. Case in point: the recent Broadway transfer of the Stratford Shakespeare Festival production of Jesus Christ Superstar was going into town with pretty much the full cast intact from Stratford and La Jolla, but they still had to hold auditions. (As it turned out, those auditions proved useful; an actor injured himself during the run, and a replacement was called back to fill in who wound up closing out the show.)

^ Did not know this. Good thing to keep in mind if I ever audition for real shows outside of school or community theater.

Dear Koza: if he likes you he likes you, if not, life goes on. In the meantime, don't worry about it as all you can do is live your own life without concerning yourself about it. Also, jealousy helps nothing if that's what your other lines are implying. Let it go.

Gwen.

Look. I've let it go. I've really let it go. I just don't get why he keeps on trying to grab my attention. It's so annoying. And I'm really trying to move on but he still acts interested without knowing it. And he also acts jealous around me. It's a lose-lose situation right now. And please, I need to voice my frustration somehow, and I apologize it has to be on the rant thread, but still.

Dear PC:

Seriously? Seriously? Seriously? I'm exhausted anyway. But seriously?

^ Honestly, I would forget all about this guy. You're letting him jerk you around. You say you're over him, but when he acts interested because it's convenient or fun for him, you get all excited again. I'd ignore his advances entirely. He obviously doesn't care about your feelings as much as you want to think he does. And you deserve better than the treatment you're getting.

When she no longer pays any attention to him that she gets any flutter from him...
When she no longer hangs around him...
When she doesn't even bother to remember what's-his-name...

...then she'll deserve better.

Feeling annoyance, irritation, or even ackowledgement...she's getting what she wants.

Look, I know I deserve better, but he and I are first and foremost friends. And I'm trying so hard to let him go, and the more I want to let him go, the more I like him (which makes no sense). But right now, I'd be more upset if I lose his friendship more than anything. If ever admits any sort of attraction, whether it's now or ten years down the road, I know what I'm going to say.

Honestly, I probably should stop venting about this, though.

Dear MdN:

I'm sorry for being an immature stupid girl.

Koza- it's OK, you can vent. But I do agree that trying to let it go might be best for you, and you deserve a more fulfilling life than "does he like me? Ah yes; ah, no." Hugs.

Dear unnamed "friend":
ONCE in the last month or so have we had a good time together. And by good time I mean that you have not twisted my comments or opinions around to belittle me. And I asked you, a "friend", for a favor, something that would take you 5 minutes, and you can't even help me out? So glad we're "friends". YOUR favor that you asked of me took up about 25 DAYS of my time, this show I just did. 5 Minutes I ask of you. 5 MINUTES. Ah, well, life goes on without you. And thanks for continuing to be so negative about this show I was thinking of auditioning for. It pushed me to actually go for it. Wouldn't THAT be something if I were cast?? I would laugh so hard.
