...oh, nevermind, that's the steam emerging from Elliott's ears. He's gonna blow!

I find the score to Titanic far superior to Nine. I find Nine's music very overrated.

I;d say Titanic and Grand Hotel (which was only half Yeston ) are easily his best scores.

plus add a book by the great Peter Stone and Titanic is a masterpiece.

^ I agree entirely. Stone's librettos for Titanic and 1776 are some of my favorite librettos out there. I also find the score better than Nine, but I do thoroughly enjoy Nine.

Pretty much agreed. As I've mentioned elsewhere, the only real problem I have with the book is that Neville and Caroline get a payoff in the score that doesn't have a strong enough foundation. It's obviously a problem that could be identified with the score too, but while I think there are also further minor problems there, the book otherwise pretty much functions as it needs to.

Well, the Tonys for Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, and Best Original Musical Score are obviously an indicator of how terrible the show is...

Except we all know that the number of awards a show wins is not directly proportional to how good it is, even if - as in this case - the argument counts in the favour of a show one likes.

Fair enough. We are just in the beginning stages of the show at my school, and I haven't gotten my hands on a script yet, so I can't really judge. I'm pretty much in love with the music though.
